Citizen Prep — Privacy Policy

Citizen Prep (the “app”) is published by SilverAppli (“we”). We built Citizen Prep to store as little of your data as possible. This policy explains what is and is not collected.

No account or sign-in

The app has no user accounts. We never collect your name, email address, or contact information through an in-app account.

Study data stored on your device

Your progress, streak, test date, chosen province, settings, and any names you type into “My local facts” are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to us. Deleting the app deletes them.

Purchases

Payments are processed by the Apple App Store or Google Play; we never see your payment details. To unlock what you bought and enable Restore Purchase, our purchase partner RevenueCat processes an anonymous app-generated identifier and your purchase receipt. See RevenueCat’s privacy policy.

Analytics and crash reports

To understand which features are used and to fix crashes, the app uses Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. This involves anonymous usage events, such as “mock test completed,” device model, operating-system version, and crash logs. We do not send your study content or local facts to analytics. Optional representative lookup

If you use “Find my representatives,” the postal code you enter is sent to the Represent API operated by Open North, a Canadian non-profit, to return the names of your elected officials. Your postal code is used only for that lookup and is not stored by us. Learn more at represent.opennorth.ca.

Notifications

Study and test-date reminders are scheduled locally on your device. Nothing is sent to a server to deliver those reminders. You can disable notifications in the app or your device settings.

Children

The app is a study aid for adults preparing for the Canadian citizenship test and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We will update this page if our practices change. The effective date above reflects the latest revision.
